Why I think the Barrage is beautiful
Google it. It’s the universal method to chase information down. But Googling and leaving the comfort of your home to research and chase facts are two different experiences. Through Googling, it would show that the total land area used for water catchment would be two-thirds of Singapore by 2011. With water used at a high rate in Singapore, an event such as the Singapore International Water Festival (SIWF) would remind many of the importance of water in Singapore, and to remind us that water is a precious gift. But at Marina Barrage where SIWF is held at, it is a different angle on the importance of water. Without water conservation, there’d be little clean water. There wouldn’t be such activities such as dragon boating, water walking, among many others. But most of all, there wouldn’t be a beautiful barrage which is a perfect place to chill with friends and family. (:
