A day of media supplements at SIWW
Several mainstream newspaper publications in Singapore today contained supplements within their editions that focussed on water industry events or milestones . The International Herald Tribune contained an SIWW supplement that included a number of articles about “Infrastructure and Technologies for Water.” Dan McCarthy, President and CEO of Black & Veatch’s global water business, was quoted in an article about foreign investment in the Singapore water market. In the article he talked about the importance that the Singapore water business plays within the global water industry, he also mentioned the success of the Black & Veatch Singapore office and how it has grown in the two years since B&V opened up a Global Design Centre and Centre of Excellence for Desalination in Singapore. Today’s edition of the Business Times carried a supplement devoted to the Sembcorp Changi NEWater Plant, in the supplement Ralph Eberts, Sr Managing Director of Black & Veatch’s Asia Pacific water business explained that the experience the company has gained from the project would be applied to upcoming projects in other parts of the world. The Straits Times carried a supplement about the opening of the Changi Water Reclamation Plant. The plant was officially opened earlier tonight by Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. The plant is the largest treatment plant in Singapore and is capable of treating 800,000 cu m of used water, to international standards daily.
